Cyber Security: Don't gamble with your Information

Texas State University-San Marcos provides an annual conference on methods and practices of safe computing and information security. Our audience is diverse in their knowledge of computing including everyone from experts in the field to the novice who wants to learn more on how they can keep their computer and sensitive information more secure. This year’s conference topic will be targeted at learning how to protect your electronic private information using best practices and recommended tools. The theme for this year’s event is "Cyber Security: Don't gamble with your Information."

The conference date is Wednesday, October 22, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom.

National Cyber Security Awareness Month - October 2008

The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), a consortium of government agencies and private industry sponsors, brings you National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) in October 2008

National Cyber Security Awareness Month is a national campaign designed to increase the public’s awareness of cyber security and crime issues, so that users can take precautions to avoid these threats on the Internet.  The month will feature public relations activities, educational programs, events and initiatives throughout October that targets home users, small businesses, education audiences (K-12 and higher education), and child safety online.
